Privacy Policy
Last updated: 01-11-2029
This privacy policy explains what information this website ("the Site") collects, why it collects it, and how it is used. The Site is a personal portfolio run by its owner ("we", "us", "the owner"). It does not require visitors to create an account, does not process payments, and does not knowingly sell or share personal data with advertisers.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
a) Information you choose to give us (the contact form)
When you submit the contact form at /contact/, we store:
- Your name and email address
- Your phone number and company name, if you choose to provide them
- The subject you selected and the message you wrote
- Your IP address, browser user-agent string, and the page that referred you to the site (if any)
We also record the time you submitted the form and, if you check the consent box, your agreement to be contacted about your enquiry. This information is stored only to read and reply to your message and is never used for marketing or shared with advertisers.
The contact form additionally uses a simple math question (e.g. "3 + 5"), a hidden honeypot field, and a short time delay to block automated spam submissions. Solving the math question does not identify you or create a separate record beyond the message itself; the answer is checked against a value held temporarily in your browser session and discarded immediately after.
b) Information collected automatically (first-party analytics)
Like most websites, the Site keeps a basic log of traffic so we can see which pages are useful. This is built in-house and does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party tracking service by default. For each page view we may record:
- The page path and title
- The referring website's domain (not the full referring URL)
- Whether the visit came from a desktop, mobile, or tablet device
- Whether the visit looks like an automated bot
We do NOT store your IP address or browser string directly. Instead, we compute a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address and browser user-agent, combined with a secret key and the current date. This hash:
- Cannot be reversed back into your IP address or identity
- Changes every day, so it cannot be used to follow you across days or sites
- Is used only to estimate how many distinct people visited, never to build a profile of you
Page views from the site owner's own admin sessions, and requests for static files (images, CSS, JavaScript), are excluded from this log entirely.
c) Cookies
The Site sets only the cookies strictly necessary for it to function:
- A session cookie, used to keep the contact form's spam-check question in sync with your browser while you fill out the form
- A CSRF-protection cookie, used to confirm that form submissions genuinely came from this site
Neither cookie is used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or to identify you personally, and neither is readable by any other website.
d) Optional third-party analytics (Google Analytics)
The site owner may optionally enable Google Analytics by entering a Measurement ID in the site's admin settings. Unless that ID is set, no Google Analytics script is loaded on the Site at all, and this section does not apply to you. If it is enabled, a Google-provided script (gtag.js) runs in your browser with IP-address anonymization turned on. Google may set its own cookies and process data under its own privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using Google's browser add-on, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information described above to:
- Read and respond to messages sent through the contact form
- Detect and block spam or abusive form submissions
- Understand, in aggregate, which pages visitors find useful, so we can improve the Site
- Keep the Site secure and operating correctly
We do not use your information to send unsolicited marketing, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your information to any third party.
3. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We do not share your information with third parties, except:
- With our email delivery provider, solely to deliver contact-form notifications to the site owner's inbox
- With Google, only if Google Analytics has been enabled by the site owner (see section 1d)
- If required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Site, its owner, or others
We never share or sell contact-form data for advertising purposes.
4. DATA RETENTION
Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, after which the site owner may archive or delete them. Aggregate page-view records are kept to track trends over time; because the visitor identifier described in section 1b cannot be reversed to an individual, it is not treated as personal data once collected, and is retained only for as long as it remains useful for understanding site traffic.
You may ask us to delete any contact-form message you sent by emailing us (see "Contact Us" below), and we will do so unless we have a legitimate reason to keep it (for example, an unresolved enquiry or a legal requirement).
5. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete information you have provided to us
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your information
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. Because the Site does not use accounts or logins, we can only locate information tied to the name, email address, or message content you give us when you contact us.
6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or the minimum age required by your local law). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. SECURITY
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the information we hold, including serving the Site over HTTPS, sanitizing user-submitted content before it is ever displayed, and never storing your IP address or browser string in plain form (see section 1b). No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time, for example as the Site's features change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. Significant changes will be reflected here; please check back periodically.
9. CONTACT US
If you have questions about this policy or how your information is handled, please get in touch through the contact form at /contact/, or email us at mubeendroid@gmail.com.
